Need Help Paying Bills
Everyone these days needs help with bills, especially seniors who are living on a fixed or limited budget.
And the help required is extensive, covering just about every aspect of life…everything from rent assistance, utility assistance, food and groceries, telephone bills, medical bills, etc…
For the reason I am putting together a list of resources to assist seniors in finding the assistance they need.
Some of this information I have already covered in other articles on this site. Where that is the case, I will not repeat myself below, but will give the link to the article. Otherwise, I will detail the information on this page.
Financial help for seniors-here I have a listing of resources for government assistance and financial assistance for seniors.
Free cell phone-one of the two most commonly asked questions I receive is how can seniors take advantage of the government program to provide low-income individuals with free cell phones.
Free dental coverage-and this is the other question I get…how to free dental coverage?
Free telephone service-here I am talking about your land life phone (click here for info on the LifeLine and LinkUp services).
Free legal advice-there are several ways to find free legal advice to help with debt collectors, deal with evictions or just to put your estate together. I give you all the options by clicking here.
Grants available for seniors-click here to find out all of the services that can be offered by your local Office of the Aging.
Prescription drug assistance-probably a senior’s biggest expense…outside of their home. There are plenty of ways, whether through a Medicare Part D drug plan or through a prescription drug assistance program to obtain help.
Utility bills-utility assistance can come from the low-income home energy assistance plan or the Federal Weatherization Assistance Program. I tell you how to apply and what benefits you can expect here.
I will be adding to this list as time goes on. I would also welcome you to contribute below if you have information that can help or would like me to research an area that you need help in.
