Next, there is a feature that assists seniors with the managing their medications.  You can download it for free and can be used on the Jitterbug…or even an iPhone. and can actually be used on any Jitterbug phone or even the iPhone. 

It works by sending you text messages reminding you when to take your medications.  There is even a feature which allows you to connect to your local pharmacy if you choose to in order to get your prescriptions refilled automatically.

And finally, here is information on one of the most unique services out there…The 5Star Urgent Response System.  This is an AMAZING service for just $14.95 a month. 

All you need to do is push the emergency button and you are connected immediately with trained technicians who can help you with any medical or other emergency. 

They have the ability to access a nurse, determine your location, call 9-1-1 for you, conference in your family members to notify them on the emergency and stay on the line with you until help arrives.

In addition to this, I also like the fact that the Jitterbug Cell phone has a lot of options when it comes to their cellular phone plans. Cell phones for senior citizens do not need to be expensive, and GreatCall understands that.

• There have been some complaints regarding the cellular phone plans. • When you use the emergency 911 feature…the phone is locked and cannot make calls for 30 minutes, this way emergency personnel can contact you. So if there is a problem you need to call your family first, then 911 from the Jitterbug cell phone.

• Local calling can be cumbersome because you have to dial the area code.

Like I said, no phone is perfect but for a senior looking for a cell phone the Jitterbug cell phone is one of the best on the market and comes with services and applications.
