Finding Help At The Office of the Aging

For senior citizens who are facing tough times, help can be found at the Office of the Aging.  After all, you should not have to make the choice between feeding themselves and paying the rent is not an acceptable option.

For this reason there are government services that are able to assist you.

The most likely place to look for these resources would be at your local Office of the Aging.  It may go by another name in your area…the most common variant is “Division of Senior Services”…this organization exists to help seniors in any way that they can.

Now, the services can vary from one office to another…mainly due to budgetary issues…but the video below is designed to give you a brief overview of how to find your local Office of the Aging and some of the types of services that are available.

Here is a sample of the cover page of one of the documents that lists the services offered…

And as always, if you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help…

Thanks for the resources, I live in SD, CA area, on SSD and Medicare for last 14 yrs due to health issues. BACK, Over a two year period, I have had all my teeth removed after 5 oral surgeries to remove teeth that went bad under bridges. With my back issues this has been a nightmare and have maxed out credit card 9100 dollars and 8 months later I need second pair of Dentures. I need to see an experienced Dentist because of low ridge on bottom. I haven’t been able to use the bottom denture as it never fit. I own a condo and have gone through two IRAs and I need to find Dental Care in SD,CA for Dentures and maybe 2 implants; I have been told. This is my problem. Migrants and very low income people get help but what about the minority of a person like me senior, home owner, medicare with Delta Dental USA; which is maxed out;as they cover almost nothing.I really need specialized care and need help finding someone to help me.. thanks please repond

I need help with Dental and to get DENTURES. No one want to help Senior Citizens and Elderly such as myself My City all the Dentist want is Money, which I don’t have, I’m on an Fixed Income and being an Senior Dental Coverage is no option with Medicare and Medicaid it’s all for Children’s. they have taken Fental Care from us, we need it just or even more than Children’s and young adults on Welfare. Can you recommend somewhere that will give me Dental Care free or a Dentist that will do it Pro Bono? I can’t eat, spent my Bill money trying to get them pulled and I need Dentures. Please Help me. Patricia,

Here is what I would do…

First, check out the links that I have here…

      http://stuffseniorsneed.com/free-dentures-and-free-dental-care/
      http://stuffseniorsneed.com/blog/free-dental-care-by-state/
      http://stuffseniorsneed.com/blog/emergency-dental-care/

There are plenty of resources, such as Donated Dental Services, the Office of the Aging and your state’s Dental Association and the National Association of Free Clinics that you can check on.

But in your instance if you could tell me where you are I could perhaps refine the search for you.

      Warm Regards

My sister is in need of a hearing aid and is not financially able to get one. She is a senior citizen and on
Social Security already. Any possible thoughts how she can get one for free or at little cost to her?

      Susna,

Hearing aids are very tough to come by in the manner you are seeking them, but there are some alternatives…
