When I went to look for free dental care in Virginia, the first thing I did was send an email to the Virginia Dental Association.
And I received the following reply…
Thank you for your inquiry. Our Donated Dental Services program is designed to help elderly (over 62y.o.) and disabled persons in Virginia.
How to qualify and information on the application process may be found on the VDA Foundation link.
Free Dental Care in Virginia
The first thing I did was check the link they sent me. And I was impressed with what they had to offer…
Because of the extraordinary compassion of over 600 dentists in Virginia, DDS tends to the essential and comprehensive dental care needs of our nation’s most vulnerable people; disabled, elderly or medically-compromised individuals who cannot afford necessary treatment nor get public aid.
DDS patients have slipped through the cracks of Medicaid and Medicare programs with nowhere else to turn.
To apply for the program, the application can be downloaded here.
However, I did want to see if there were any other programs available.
Virginia Dental Association Resources
At their website I found a treasure trove of resources regarding dental providers for the uninsured, listings of free clinics and help that can come from the University of Virginia dental school.
In case you missed it, the link is here…
