Free Dental Care in New Mexico

For those of you searching for free dental care in New Mexico, the good news is that I was able to easily find several resources to help low-income seniors.

First, by contacting the New Mexico Dental Association I was sent a link to the dental foundation’s association with Donated Dental Services, which provides assistance for those who cannot afford the cost of their dentistry.

The application is here as well as the information for where to send the completed application…or you can contact Linda Paul, Executive Director of DDS, at (505) 298-7206.

In addition to that, there is also help at the state level. And that help comes from the New Mexico Human Services Department.

Note: it appears that things are in flux in NM as the names of programs are changing beginning in 2014. The new name of the Medicaid program will be “Centennial Care”.

Regardless of the name, the program will provide or at least low-cost care for patients. My suggestion would be to contact the NM Human Services Department’s Medical Assistance Division Toll free at 1-888-997-2583 to find out more about the specifics of the program.

Another way of finding out about this program is to use this list of dental Medicaid providers in New Mexico.

It is the most recent one available and you should contact each of the providers that is close to you in order to find out what they can do for you.
